Adam DeVarney is an illustrator, street artist, and graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Currently living in Chicago, Adam has spent the majority of his life on the east coast in Vermont and New York. Although seeming simple at first glance, his work is very intricate, and is brought together through the use of many layers individual layers. Adam is interested in the concept of layering abstracted thought and using them together in each piece to convey a particular cohesive message to the viewers. His paintings are composed of drawings, hand colored paper, found imagery, and acrylics upon hand made wood panels. It isn’t uncommon to see the use of how-to manuals, schematic drawings, dated photography and typography in each piece created.
