Zach’s artwork embodies trauma and scattered memories. As a child, he was involved in a horrific car accident, which left him broken, both physically and emotionally. He incorporates experiences of fear, pain, and confinement with the perseverance of treatment. In many instances, you will notice themes of support versus restraint, bondage versus freedom, and tension versus nonchalance. The process parallels his recovery by starting fragmented and incomplete, but slowly evolving one step at a time until all elements combine and form a new whole. Each finished product is a truly unique piece, that only Zach himself can produce.
